Hi! I’m Joan, a decluttering and organizing coach.

I delight in helping people create a home they love.
I help busy people find a way to carve out the time they need to systematically clear their clutter.
I work with people who feel overwhelmed by the clutter that has accumulated, and don’t know how or where to begin.
My caring, gentle approach helps if you’re having difficulty parting with sentimental items that are taking up too much space.
And if you’re ashamed of your space, please know, my non-judgmental approach and supportive guidance will replace shame with success and satisfaction!
“[Joan is] so positive and warm. I never felt guilty or “bad” at organizing or decluttering. I felt encouraged.”

. . . greatly beneficial was the idea of picturing that which I want rather than fixing that which I have.

Joan’s Journey

Where’d it start?
The seeds were planted years ago.
At 16 I finally got my own room. My mom asked what color I wanted the walls to be. I picked lilac!!!! I then helped choose everything else – dresser, desk, chair, bedspread, curtains. I loved that room . . . and I was so proud of it!
The next seed was planted when I got married. I read every design magazine I could get my hands on to help me decide “THE LOOK” I wanted. I even took courses at NY School of Interior Design.
Years Later . . .
After 10 years of teaching, raising my daughter, working in a furniture showroom selling to architects and designers, and becoming a color consultant, the integration of the things I loved to do came together.
As a color consultant, I helped people clear their closets of clothing that wasn’t flattering. I discovered how difficult it was for many of them to let go of things – even clothes that looked terrible.
I noticed that many of these folks had an overload of stuff in other parts of the house, as well. So, I helped them declutter and organize their space, as well as their closets.

And Now . . .
Because I know how my surroundings affect my well-being, I love helping others create a space they love. Home, to me, is sanctuary. And I was not surprised to learn studies have shown that clutter has negative effects on physical health, cognitive abilities, and maintaining happiness in your home environment.
You are such a joy to work with. You are nonjudgemental and full of good ideas. You are clear and you follow through and follow up. There is NOONE else I would have wanted to tackle this project with than you. “
